Memory Care

Memory CareEvery year, thousands of families in the United States face the difficult task of deciding when it’s time to seek additional help in caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or other progressive dementias. Early on, many people with Alzheimer’s disease do well at home, especially when a caregiver is present. Adult children may have a parent move in with them which may require modifying their house, schedule and lifestyle. In time even the most loving and accommodating family may be unable to meet the needs of a person with dementia and may need to think about other options for their loved one.

Assisted living residences may offer help with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, bathing, dressing, laundry, housekeeping, and assistance with medications. Memory care in an assisted living residence would be best suited for those who have moderate functional impairment but who can still engage in such tasks as feeding themselves and walking independently.

We proudly offer Memory Care services at Bristol Village.
